Bond 22 to Be Called ‘Quantam of Solace’

Daniel Craig as James BondProducers released the name of Bond 22 today at a press conference at Pinewood Studios. Daniel Craig, who is featured as James Bond for the next 22 installments, will don the black-tie and silencer for Quantum of Solace, set for release in November.

Professional news media outlet CNN has the story but fails to mention, professionally, that the title makes it sound like Bond will be placed in a machine that turns him into the Sandman

Also, since ‘quantum’ is just a fancy term for ‘quantity’, this might be the most pretentious sounding Bond title since A View to a Kill.

  • My initial reaction to the title was similar. But after thinking it over a few minutes, I like the title. Not to play dictionary, but a quantum is not any quantity, it is the smallest amount of something possible. So he is looking for the smallest amount of solace he can find. There is something sad and tragic about that.

And once again you've beat me to a hot lead! I need to start waking up earlier, as you always seem to catch these about 15 minutes before I do. DAMN YOU ABAIUS, DAMN YOU.
  • Yes, I suppose "Iota of Solace" or "Modicum of Solace" sounds just as pretentious.

Also, Fure, no one damns me and lives to tell the tale. Pistols at dawn?
  • A Gaggle of Solace?

And pistols at dawn it shall be, sir, it shall be.
