District13Ultimatum

If you love martial arts action and the high-flying first film from producer Luc Besson, you must see this movie. That is my ultimatum to you, friends. Besson is back, producing District 13: Ultimatum with Patrick Alessandrin directing. Cyril Raffaelli and David Belle reprise their roles as Damien and Leito, two earnest dudes who use Parkour and ass-kicking to once again save the futuristic Parisian ghetto from being wiped off the map. Those French, they are always trying to hold the gangster down.

Magnet Releasing has provided us with a copy of the poster (click to enlarge below) for Ultimatum, a film I reviewed favorably at Fantastic Fest earlier this year. Like its predecessor, Ultimatum kicks its audience square in the chest with high-flying action and a relentless pace. It is derivative of the first film, but by the second act we don’t care. We just want to see more martial artistry and mayhem.

District 13: Ultimatum is on VOD on January 1, 2010 and in theaters in the U.S. on February 5th. For more, check out Magnet’s Six Shooter Film Series website.
