The other night I caught another trailer for Charlie Wilson’s War in front of American Gangster, and I have to say that it looks pretty good. The film follows a fun-loving playboy congressman (Tom Hanks) as he is enlisted by a rich Texas sugarmomma (Julia Roberts) to help a rogue CIA Agent (Philip Seymour Hoffman) “handle” the growing tensions between Afghanistan and the Soviet Union. It is all based on Charlie Wilson’s true story. The film itself looks like a lot of fun, and with director Mike Nichols (Closer, The Birdcage) at the helm we are almost assured some level of quality. I would recommend catching the trailer in front of American Gangster this weekend (that is, if you needed any more reasons to go see American Gangster anyway).

Yesterday, the folks over at ComingSoon.net gave us a look at the theatrical poster for Charlie Wilson’s War, which can be seen below (Click the poster to see the Hi-Res Version).
