pirates of the caribbean films are the best ive seen for a long time and should keep the characters as they are all gd together i really cant wait for this to come out and i hope they keep makin these films for many years to come as i will never get bored of any of the films

If they are going to start filming pirates of the caribbean 4 in april and may 2010,then it comes out in 2011, thats got mean one thing and one thing only, and that is - that its going to be out on around may 25th, 2011 wednesday, as like this other website claims from a count down on there, the website i'm talking about is called http://www.ohjohnny.net/ . Check it out!, when yu have chance to!, you just might think its pretty interesting considering the fact that pirates 4 does not come out until 2 years from now in 2011.

I'm ok with them bringing it back down in scale, the third movie was almost unbearably complex for a swashbuckling film. However, that being said, it is Pirates of the Caribbean 4…A sequel, not a freaking reboot. unless they are starting from scratch (IE without ANY of the original actors, directors, or backstory, then it is not a reboot. I don't mind that some of these recent franchises have gotten reboots, without them we would not have the dark brooding Batman we have longed for as comic fans. However, not every franchise needs a reboot, and the ones that don't are still getting them for some reason. From that point, its just a few more steps until we get something like a Godfather Trilogy Reboot (may the Gods of Film forgive me for suggesting such a horrid idea.)

Depp is a great actor, yet I think he's underrated. Audiences accept with no question that he can play ANY character well, from a guy with scissors for hands to a pirate channeling Keith Richards. Could De Niro do as well? Maybe in his prime as with Pacino.
But they couldn't do comedy if it came up and bit them on the ass. Johnny boy seems to be able to do anything well, and some things extremely well. In 40 years or so, I'm sure he'll get a Lifetime Acheivement Award.

I really think it's a good idea they're back to the characters. I'm sure they realized that Bloom and Knightly were just weak characters, and the adventures of Jack and Barbossa are going to be much more enduring.

I think I'd prefer if these films were a little more episodic and standalone. I'm happy for there to be long character arcs which take place over several films, but really I'd enjoy these a lot more if they were done in the James Bond sequel style rather than the 'trilogy' style.
