Piranha 3D Teaser: Going Where 3D Has Never Gone Before
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 26, 2010 | (4) Comments
This might be the coolest thing we write about all day. I’m willing to make that prediction, despite the fact that it’s still early. The fine folks at Dark Horizons have pointed us in the direction of the first teaser trailer for Piranha 3D, one of this summers hidden gems. Director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors) has set out to deliver an immersive and terrifying 3D experience that will take you deep into Lake Victoria, where a pack of flesh-eating Piranha have interrupted spring break.
The teaser, which clocks in at just under a minute and a half, shows off some of these nasty little creatures, as well as some of the film’s exciting cameos. Like Eli Roth as the emcee of the wet t-shirt contest. Or Christopher Lloyd as an aquatically inclined version of Doc Brown. “Where we’re going, we don’t need boat ramps…” And how about Elisabeth Shue? Still fighting the good fight. And in this writer’s opinion, she’s winning.
Check out the first teaser below. Piranha 3D is due out on August 27, 2010.
