Photos: Charlize and Will on the Set of ‘Hancock’

We have not given a lot of love to Will Smith’s upcoming superhero flick Hancock, so we might as well start with a few shots taken on location in San Pedro. The story revolves around a relatively unpopular superhero (Smith) who starts up a relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman) who is trying to help him repair his image.

The story sounds ok, I will give them that. It was penned by John August (Charlie’s Angels), Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend), Vince Gilligan (Home Fries) and Vincent Ngo. Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) is on to direct and Michael Mann is co-producing with Smith. So all-in-all, its a star-studded affair. Plus, did I mention Jason Bateman? That man can do no wrong.

Take a look at some shots of Will Smith and Charlize Theron on set, shooting a scene that looks a little like a snow storm but is probably more of a “debris after an explosion” scene. Click each image to embiggen.

Hancock is set to be in theaters July 2, 2008.

Thumbs up to Charlize for having her breasts all hanging out and stuff. On the downside, there's Will Smith. On the upside, there's Michael Mann. On the downside, there's Will Smith again. On the upside, Jason Bateman. Mann + Bateman + Theron breasties = awesome. Add Will Smith and we automatically get downgraded to "feh."

The movie was great... I see Mr Hand is too busy touching himself and totally missed out on some brilliant acting from Will Smith... finally a movie without him going over the top... he was less goofy this time only in the scenes where it was required.
After watching this movie I checked out Batman Dark Knight... who's idea was it to have Bale grunt all his lines in the Batman costumed scenes? They need to do some overdubbing in the DVD release for XMAS.
I would definitely catch a sequel of Hancock... hope they have a good script for that one and more story lines on the bad guys.
