Seth Rogen is a busy, busy man. You may have seen him this year — he’s been popping up all over the place. His delightful performance in Knocked Up rocked us in mid-Summer and his writing skills had us rolling on the floor months later with Superbad. Next year, this member of the Judd “Apatowniverse” will have plenty on his plate, including a starring role alongside Elizabeth Banks in Kevin Smith’s anticipated next flick, Zack and Miri Make a Porno. He also had a role in Fanboys, voiceovers in Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda and The Spiderwick Chronicles and a writing credit for Owen Wilson’s Drillbit Taylor.
Yet, even with all of that on his plate, he still has one other project: The Pineapple Express — one that he co-wrote with his Superbad writing partner Evan Goldberg. The flick tells the story of a stoner (Rogen) who is forced to go on the run with his dealer (James Franco) from the police after the pothead witnesses a cop commit murder. From there, the humor undoubtedly ensues. And if you take a look at the picture above (found via /Film) — the first look at the two stars in the film — you can see that something about this film just feels right. It is similar to the way you may have felt when those first shots from Superbad hit the web.
What is there to be said? When you’re hot, you’re hot. And right now Seth Rogen is red hot. Oh, and he is going to be The Green Hornet in 2009. As if he didn’t have enough going on already. The Pineapple Express is set for an August 8, 2008 release date.
Up for Discussion: What do you think of the picture above? Are you excited about The Pineapple Express, or do you need to see more first?
