Board games? Really? They have lost so much imagination that they are turning to board games? What's next Shoots and Ladders, Ouija, backgammon, or that simple favorite Checkers? This is pure idiocy, and completely moronic. At least the video game ones had an actual story behind them.

I just can't wait for hula hoop: The movie, Revenge of the Lawn Darts, or that future classic Tiddly winks the silent killer. Where does this insanity stop?

Agree with #2. How many times does it have to happen before directors realise that when they have to start talking about their childhood to justify the movie you just know it will be a pile of t**d.

I see one major problem with this. There are only two options here:

Either you make it a raucous battle movie with impressive littoral powers at work and the game tie-in means nothing, or you make it based on the game in some way and it loses the strength of a real dramatic war story.
