Creation, from director Jon Amiel (Entrapment), tells the story of the life of Charles Darwin, the father of the theory of evolution. And in this first trailer, which debuted over at Telegraph.co.uk, we see Paul Bettany as the famed naturalist and Jennifer Connelly as his wife Emma. Toby Jones also stars as Thomas Huxley, Darwin’s close friend. Have a look at the trailer below.

Looks a little BBC movie of the week to me, but you just never know. I’ve always been a fan of Bettany and the rest of this fills in quite well. Of course, this entire movie is blasphemy as you all know, so I won’t be seeing it. But the trailer looks great.

Creation hits theaters on September 25, 2009.

What do you think of the first trailer for Creation?

I'd bet on Bettany. Har. Seriously, it's about damn time a decent movie (pretending there's no chance it will suck) was made about Darwin. Can't wait for it. Even more, I can't wait to see it played every day for years on the History Channel.
