Pathology Redband Trailer — Sexy, Disturbing!

Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on March 15, 2008

When last we checked, the marketing for the med school thriller Pathology, starring Milo Ventimiglia, is not going well. The most recent trailer mixed Napoleon Dynamite with the weird dreams of a necrophiliac. Ventimiglia plays a young coroner who gets sucked into the disturbing world of murder without consequence. We’ve got a good look at the new redband trailer, thanks to our friends over at The Movie Blog. Take a look below.

As you can see, this trailer is a lot smarter, a lot sexier and quite a bit more disturbing. If you think about it, this could basically become the movie version of the hit TV show “Dexter”, if it is done correctly. While I am not completely sold on the film yet, I can say that they are going in the right direction. I will keep you in the loop as I see more and more from the film. For you twisted horror nuts, this is looking better and better by the day.

Pathology hits theaters on April 18th.

I just posted this trailer on my site also, and I’m definitely more interested in it than when I saw the first trailer. It’ll be interesting to see Ventimiglia in a leading role.

I thought of Dexter also when watching this trailer. I love Dexter though, so I might be disappointed if I go in to this movie comparing the two.

Lo says:

It looks like they are ripping off Cronenbergs Crash and Dexter.

Shiv says:

Yeah, I immediately thought of Cronenbergs Crash when I saw the trailer. Crash gave you that feeling… it almost felt wrong, but you couldnt look away.
With the amount of gore I’m expecting from this, I dont think it’ll have that same effect. It might end up disgusting more people than anything.

An Orgy of Tits and Blood!

WOOOO

Cole Abaius says:

I don’t get the comparisons at all. Dexter tends to have more of a wink and smile toward the morbid, which is why it’s awesome. Sarcasm and blood spatter.

I dig the Crash references though - the sort of insanity and Godlike power of adrenaline and control.

I think I’m back on board with this thing.
