Party With Us, And Jason Statham at the Wrath of Con Party!
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on July 16, 2008

No, we aren’t throwing our own party at Comic-Con this year. We are still under the watchful eye of California’s regional FBI office for our last shindig — lets just say that it was fun, though we regret all the fatalities. This year, however, some of the bearded FSR staffers will be partying it up with the folks at IESB.net, Bloody-Disgusting.com and Lakeshore Entertainment at the brand new Hard Rock Hotel in beautiful San Diego, California.
The event, called the Wrath of Con party, will take place on Saturday, July 26th from 9:00pm to 1:00am and will be one of the biggest late-night events of the entire Comic-Con event. It is also tied very closely to the Masters of the Web panel, which will feature writers from some of the web’s best movie related sites. In order to get into this big party, you will have to check out the panel, where they will be giving away 10 passes to fans to attend. Here are the details on the panel:
10:00-11:00 Masters of the Web— For the second year in a row the biggest genre and movie websites are coming together to discuss how new media have affected movie making, what it takes to run a popular site, and much more in a panel discussion and Q&A session. Participants include Robert Sanchez (IESB.net), Garth Franklin (Darkhorizons.com), Mike Sampson (Joblo.com), Erik Davis (Cinematical.com), John Campea (TheMovieBlog.com), Brad Miska (Bloody-Disgusting.com), Eric “Quint” Vespe (Aintitcool.com), Devin Faraci (CHUD.com), Paul Christensen (Movieweb.com), and Kellvin Chavez (Latinoreview.com). Moderated by directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank 2, The Game). Room 32AB
So if you show up to the panel on Thursday, July 24, you might just get into the party — where you could possibly share a drink with yours truly. Who else might you be drinking with? The folks over at IESB.net published this little guest list this afternoon:
Special guests Jason Statham (Death Race), Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard), Rhona Mitra (Doomsday), David Goyer (writer of The Dark Knight), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Rocky Balboa), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean, Hot Fuzz), John Cho (Star Trek, Harold & Kumar), Simon Pegg (Star Trek), Sophie Monk (The Hills Run Red), Efren Ramirez (Napoleon Dynamite), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Lena Headey (300, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Thomas Dekker (Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes), Jamie King (The Spirit, Sin City), Patrick Tatopoulos (director of Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans), Kyle Newman director of Fanboys), Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor (directors of The Game), Corey Haim (Lost Boys: The Tribe), Corey Feldman (Lost Boys: The Tribe), Bai Ling, Edgar Wright (Spaced, Hot Fuzz), Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar), Angus Sutherland (Lost Boys: The Tribe), Tad Hildebrink (Lost Boys: The Tribe, The Hills Run Red), Scott Ian of Anthrax… and many more still to be confirmed.
Not a bad list, if I do say so myself. So get out there folks — catch that Masters of the Web panel and you just might get into one of the most star-studded parties of the entire Con. And who knows, maybe you will end up at the super-secret FSR after party, catered by Ralph’s supermarket and sponsored by Excedrin.
Are you going to be at Comic-Con in San Diego next week?
