Oscar Week: How Do They Make That Little Guy?

oscarbirth01.jpgHave you ever wondered who makes the most coveted 8.5lbs of gold in all of Hollywood? And no, I am not referring to the chain around Flavor Flav’s neck, I am referring to those cute little Oscar statuettes that have made so many careers in the film business.

If you have wondered where the little dude comes from, then you are in luck. T.L. Stanley has posted an awesome little slideshow detailing the birth of an Oscar over at THR’s Gold Rush blog. It is short, but informative nonetheless.

Now, if only I could get the R.S. Owens company to make a little gold statue of me…
