I have yet to see a lot of performances of 2008 to adjudge Ledger as worthy to be an Oscar winner ONLY by seeing his performance but if he is really the best this year, he should definitely get it. As for those stupid people (mostly 'Titanic' fans) who think TDK is becoming a phenomenal block-bluster only because Ledger is dead and not due to his performance, I simply laugh at that comment and would not give a reaction for that except I would like them to remind that... 'Titanic' became the number one block bluster because ALL the people were curious to know how ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN humans ended up dying on a huge ship and thus death became the reason for THAT movie to be watched so much and not THIS movie-TDK. Fanboys can use this point to argue. And it's not that I am some crazy fanboy saying this because TDK is critically Acclaimed and Titanic was not. Except for the really great efforts (that should be appreciated) implemented in creating and then showing the ship sinking, there were no such efforts visible in the junk story-line that was another boring love-story. The Master that he is, James Cameron's best till date is Terminator 2: Judgement Day(1991) which is one of the best in the world movies.
