Not too terribly long ago, we told you that Robert Downey Jr. was leaving the production of Cowboys and Aliens, which is set to be directed by Jon Favreau. The production replaced Downey (who most likely is headed off to make Sherlock Holmes 2) with washboard abed Brit Daniel Craig, who isn’t the most likely choice to play a cowboy named Zeke. But whatever, Craig is a good actor and we’re talking about an action movie from Jon Favreau. This isn’t rocket science.

Today we learn that delicious House castmember Olivia Wilde — who will also be starring in the upcoming Tron: Legacy — has also joined the production. According to Heat Vision, Wilde will play a character named Ella who joins up with the mysterious gunslinger (played by Craig) in an unlikely uprising against an alien invasion. The film will be based on a script from Lost creator Damon Lindelof and Star Trek co-scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited. An alien invasion in the time of the old west? Script from the Star Trek trio, directed by the Iron Man guy, starring James Bond and Thirteen from House? No analysis needed… start shooting, Mr. Favreau.
