Although I am a fan of Quentin Tarantino, I have to say that the inaccuracy of Inglorious Basterds bothered me a great deal. I would have though they would have chosen a fictional character to be killed off besides the real character Adolph Hitler. It was distracting to the point of disappointment.

So is that a good thing? Since Tarantino said this movie is in essence a western then I guess your comment is a compliment. if you read the interview with the artist he says the intention was to be true to Tarantino's influences. Having made a movie with countless western references and a score primarily derived from Morricone western scores the idea of harking back to that era of poster is completely in keeping. Maybe this isn't what you were refering to, maybe it's the swastika's, the star of David and the Nazi uniforms that scream "western"to you.

Now, if only we can get The Americans to go see this movie then maybe it will be a hit. Brad Pitt playing an American seems as funny to them as Jackie Chan doing it. THEN we'll have to explain the freaking Jews, Nazis and Germans to them. Sigh. An endless uphill battle to NOTHING... :(
