Officially Cool: Star Trek Engraved Macbooks and iPods
Movie News By Neil Miller on October 25, 2007 | Be the First To CommentThe last time I put my Official Stamp de Cool on something, we were talking about real superheroes and Matt Ogens’ awesome documentary Confessions of a Superhero. Today we get move from superheroes to a super-series that has spawned an army of fans, who coincidentally call them selves “Trekkies”. If you are one of these folks, then you will absolutely go nuts for what I am about to show you. Feast your eyes on the ultimate Mac Geek/Trekkie accessorization:

I picked this up off of TUAW, one of my daily stops for all things Apple (I’m a junkie, what can I say?). Etchstar is the company responsible for selling this and many more customized products. Not only do they have the Enterprise MacBook (shown above), but they have a Starfleet Command MacBook Pro, an Enterprise A iPod, a Star Trek logo iPod, a Klingon Empire iPod and other very cool designs, some of which aren’t Star Trek related.
Since I am not a big Trek fan, I wasn’t as excited about these as some people will be. Yet, I thought they were pretty wicked, so I felt the need to share. It also goes along with all of the time that we’ve been spending covering the upcoming Star Trek reboot being directed by “Lost” creator J.J. Abrams. I’m still holding onto my view that the movie is going to suck, but at least you will have a cool Trek themed iPod to watch it on late next year when you download it from your favorite torrent site.
