I know it’s been a while since we’ve done an Officially Cool Feature – mostly because I’m incredibly hard to please, believing that most things that aren’t me are tragically uncool. However, this floated past the FSR Editorial Desk this morning, and I thought it was definitely cool enough to share with you Rejects.

Star Trek Dolls[click image to largify]

Mattel is launching a line of Star Trek inspired Barbie Dolls that will be available for purchase on 4/20. As you can tell, the three dolls resemble Spock, Kirk and Uhura.

I have no idea why they are being billed as “Barbie” dolls necessarily. Nor do I understand where the crossover between Barbie fans and Trekkers is, but someone in marketing must have birthed the idea and thought it was a gold mine.

Which is why I think the concept is both ridiculous and cool. Now, I’m waiting to see what the Star Trek Dream House and Kirk’s Pretty Princess Pink Convertible will look like.

I imagine they’ll be at stores and other outlets that accept money.
