Warner Bros. Pictures and MySpace debuted a brand new poster for the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street yesterday, giving us an extremely detailed look at the crispy, gnarly face of the new Freddy Krueger, played by Jackie Earle Haley. If there’s one take-away to be had with this poster, it’s that there is an incredible amount of detail in the make-up effects work of Karen Lynn Accattato and team. Their work combined with the work of concept artist Nathaniel West have given Freddy one hell of an update. I must say that even though there’s Photoshop at work here, I’m impressed with Freddy’s look. The new nightmare, from director Samuel Bayer and producers Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller, could very well turn out to be a sick affair, in a good way.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is due out April 30, 2010. The new trailer is set to debut on MySpace.com/TrailerPark on Thursday, 2/25 at 12:01 am PST. The new poster is below (click to enlarge), followed by the film’s official synopsis.
