‘Night Projectionist’ Set to Suck Audiences Dry

Ever felt like you were trapped in a theater waiting for your death? The Night Projectionist hopes to take your terror and amplify it to 11.

Myriad Pictures is teaming up with comic book publisher Studio 407 to produce the film adaptation of the horror comic. Myriad already has another project in the works with Studio 407, Hybrid, which is set to begin production later in 2009.

The Night Projectionist is set on Halloween Eve in a small-town movie theater. An all-night movie Dracula-Thon brings in a crowd of moviegoers, happy to see the bloodfest until they realize they are trapped inside the theater as vampires begin to flood the area.

Myriad Pictures has had some success recently with the biopic Kinsey and the box-office hit Jeepers Creepers 2. If they can bring a legitimate vampire flick to the theater that’d be a bonus. As it is I find myself watching The Lost Boys DVD repeatedly to get my night-walker fix.

You can check out first issue of The Night Projectionist miniseries in February. We all know it will suck one way or another, which could be a good thing.

Does The Night Projectionist sound good to you? What film made you feel like you were dying in the theater?

  • Sounds like Lamberto Bava's Demons. Could be pretty cool.

And Near Dark makes a good double feature with Lost Boys for your night-walker fix.

I enjoyed the spinal tap reference in the first sentence there. Thanks.
  • Looks like this could be something to look forward to or not at all. I'm getting burnt out on vampires, give me some more werewolf and zombie action.

I seen twilight recently. I was hoping to die in the theater. Or at least have that cinema gunner take out the tweeners behind me.

Feel as if it is like a Dusk Till Dawn Copy...

Stuck in a place - vampires - chaos.
