Where the hell did this movie come from? I’ve obviously missed the early boat on this one, because this is the first time I’m hearing about the world of 9. This new trailer for the upcoming animated film has me instantly hooked though… check it out.

Does that not look cool as hell? The animation looks appropriately crisp and dark, but not overly stylized like you would expect from producer Tim Burton. 9 is a feature-length adaptation of writer/director Shane Acker’s short of the same name from four years ago (which can still be found on YouTube).
A CG-animated film not aimed at children! A post-apocalyptic nightmare! The voice talents of Elijah Wood, Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Christopher Plummer, and Martin Landeau! Ragdolls!
9 is scheduled for release on 9.9.09. You can view the trailer in high definition over at Apple.com.
What do you think? Does it not reek of the potential to be awesome?
