From what i've herd Nero is from the Future, and he's trying to mess with the past. Ive also herd that that last photo with kirk crawling out of the snow, is where he meets the Future Spock, that's what i've herd. I just thought of Monsieur Kiernan due to his physical similarities to Scotty of old. The Glaswegian accent's probably the easiest Scottish accent to reproduce. JJ wants to make something that tributes Star Trek and still make it more modern or even futuristic. So here you have things like mini-skirts and colorful bridge plateaus and pajama uniforms which may have seemed very futuristic to the people of the 60s and 70s but to us or to me at least is just laughable. I say take the risk and completley re-vamp this story. I was excited by the teaser trailer because it looked like it was placing the story in our universe but judging from these pictures its the same universe as galaxy quest.
