New Push Comic Tries to Explain What the Hell’s Going On

After the extended preview at Comic-Con and the recently released trailer, there are two things that I’ve heard people say about the Summit Entertainment film Push; “What the hell is this?” and “This looks like Heroes.” Both sentiments are completely understandable, as the film does look like Heroes. It is also potentially confusing. Thankfully the chaps at Summit Entertainment and Wildstorm/DC Comics will be releasing a comic miniseries, written by Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman; Art by Bruno Redondo.
The two covers seen below are for the already released issues #1 and #2, which hit comic shelves in November.

We also have the covers for the December (left) and January (right) issues below.

I’ve had a chance to flip through the first issue and so far its pretty solid — engaging and aesthetically interesting, but it doesn’t shed a ton of light on the story for the film. Though it does lead me to believe that the next few issues will lead up to the film’s release well. Personally I’m stoked for this film, as it has some really solid sci-fi roots and a very complex and potentially interesting story. Then again, it is anchored by performances from three actors who aren’t worth their weight in shit, Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning and Camilla Belle. Miracles have happened before, though.
Push (the movie) hits theaters on February 6, 2009. Check out some additional stills from the movie below. For more on the comics, check out the DC/Wildstorm homepage.
