New Pineapple Express Poster Lives the Thug Life
Movie News By Neil Miller on April 3, 2008 | (2) Comments
Generally, stoner comedies can be characterized by their inaction, or the lack of motivation that their characters have once they have smoked up all the green. But Pineapple Express seems to be more about getting some action, making it the first stoner action comedy — at least as far as I can recall this early in the morning. And in its action comes its comedy, as we all saw in the redband trailer that we brought you back in early February.
The film stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a dude and his weed man, respectively, who inadvertently end up witnesses to a very bad dude (Gary Cole) doing a very bad thing (murder). The two end up on the run, trying to get away from the situation with their lives, and their glorious green intact. Take a look at the first, smoky poster from the film below, courtesy of our friends at JoBlo.
Pineapple Express is directed by David Gordon Green (Snow Angels, All the Real Girls) and written by Superbad writing trio Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Judd Apatow. The film will also star Amber Heard (Never Back Down), Bill Hader (Superbad) and Danny McBride (Foot Fist Way). It hits theaters on August 8th.
