If there is one common theme that I took away from the first Twilight film, it was that teenagers (vampires and werewolves included) in Forks, Washington love to stare at each other with looks of longing — a bit too much of the brooding, perhaps. And with the upcoming sequel New Moon, it appears as if the star of the show (brooding) is back in action. As evidence, I would like to present the following images, which we received from the folks at Summit Entertainment this morning. In the gallery below you will see the first official, high resolution shots of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner), as well as director Chris Weitz telling them where to look and how intently they must stare.

Overall, the look and feel of the film fit in with the look and feel of the first film, which should come as no surprise. Though I would argue that Peter Facinelli (as Dr. Carlisle Cullen) is looking a bit whiter. Perhaps he’s not feeding as much as the other vampires. Who knows. Check out the images for yourself below.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon hits theater on November 20, 2009.
