‘New Moon’ Only Needs 14 Seconds to Get Shirtless
Movie News By Neil Miller on August 11, 2009 | (12) Comments
Yesterday I wrote a brief dispatch about an upcoming trailer event, that of Twilight: New Moon. The trailer drops in theaters along with the Summit Entertainment release Bandslam on Friday. But before we can even get to that, we have to sit through a 14-second “trailer preview.”
Yes folks, you read that right — a 14-second preview of what can only possibly be a roughly 2-minute theatrical trailer. It is quite possibly the most absurd marketing tactic I’ve seen all week. But then again, can you blame Summit Entertainment, a fledgling studio who has caught lightning in a bottle, for squeezing every last ounce of opportunity out of this franchise? It’s annoying and unnecessary, but it sure is cause for conversation. Would fans on the other side of the spectrum go nuts for a 14-second preview of the Na’vi from James Cameron’s Avatar in anticipation of Avatar Day? I think they would…
If you are so inclined, you can check out the new footage below. Twilight: New Moon is in theaters on November 20th.
