If there is one thing that I can tell you about myself and /Film’s Peter Sciretta, it is that we both rule. If there is a second thing I can say, it is that we both seem to have very similar tastes when it comes to great independent cinema. So when he goes out and gives a movie like Juno 9 out of 10 stars, it gets me very interested.

One of the reasons that we are kicking ourselves for missing the Toronto Film Festival this year, Juno is Jason Reitman’s follow-up to Thank You for Smoking. It tells the story of a young girl (Ellen Page) who becomes pregnant after her first sexual encounter with a classmate (Michael Cera) and must figure out what to do with her unborn child. From the reviews that have already been coming in, Juno sports razor-sharp dialogue, Reitman’s brand of colorful cinematography and so much heart that it is already being compared with Little Miss Sunshine, the runaway indie favorite of 2006. The film also stars Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, J.K. Simmons, “Office” star Rainn Wilson and Allison Janney.

And though we don’t yet have a trailer to show you, the afore mentioned Peter from /Film has squeezed some photos out of the folks at Fox Searchlight. Click HERE to take a look.

Juno is set for a platform release on December 14.
