Some people seem to take animated films WAY to seriously. Yes there does need to be some sense of believability to the situation but it doesn't need to be realistic. Blue Sky's main issue with Ice Age is making a compelling story with compelling characters (except Scrat who is a really great character with a really fun story).

I'm 28 and I love both Ice Ages. I also love watching these movies with my 4 year old son. I also think that Dennis Leary and John Leguizamo are a golden pair.

I love Scrat. he's my wallpaper, and I watched IA for IA, but Scrat was something I looked forward to. I love trailer! You just can't help feeling sorry for the little guy, but you know that if he gets the acorn, it will all be over. So, they're not leading with something from the main plot of the movie. If the sideline story captures your interest this well, the main storyline should be outstanding.

From my recollection, all of the teaser trailers for this franchise have been Scrat-heavy shorts. So, this is really just keeping the norm.

Um… You do know that this movie is made for kids, right?? The producers don't give a sabertoothed rat's a$$ about whether or not the trailer lets you know what the movie is about. They just know that 4 year olds will watch the trailer and then beg and scream until their parents take them to see the movie. They are marketing to kids. Because it's a movie for kids.
