Before Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince makes eleventy-billion dollars at the box office this summer, the filmmakers and marketing team are determined to show us every single frame of the film. If you can take all the clips and piece them together, I’m sure we could actually premiere the damned thing on our site before it comes out.

So it goes without saying that they released a new featurette for the MTV Movie Awards crowd this evening – introduced by stars Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe.

If you’re into spoilers, and haven’t read the book yet, the scene shows one of Dumbeldore’s memories as he revisits the first time he encountered Voldemort as a small, Dickensian orphan child. And there’s fire involved.

It’s a little slow start, so hopefully that won’t be the tone throughout, but otherwise it’s a pretty stark look at the world of a tortured soul who everyone knows becomes a master of the Dark Arts.

What do you think? Still excited or just ready for them to release the damned movie already?

  • That's it? That's the whole freakin' clip? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!!!!! Too short! July 15th can't come soon enough...
  • daaaaaaamn, Harry Potter looks like Rachel Dratch
  • Good thing I've been avoiding all teasers and clips. They did it for Order of the Pheonix too, and it kinda spoiled the movie for me. Sucks for you guys who run news sites like this though, since it's sort of obligatory that you guys watch them. :( My sympathies.
  • I thought that this movie was gorgeous in respect to the cinematography, and after watching it a second time, I could appreciate it more(Was very tired at the midnite show, so had to go watch it again today).I understand why it had to be condensed so much, because where the books describe things in detail, they had to convey these things in moments. I like dit very much, though i will always find the books so much better, but I do think they did a fabulaous job bringing some of the best parts to life.can not wait for the last 2!
