New Choke TV Spot Features a Quote from a Familiar Name

Choke

Only one of two things can come of this — either I should feel used, as a studio has decided to use my words to promote a film, or I will be called a quote whore, because one quote from one of my reviews has made it into a commercial. Either way, I am stoked — because anyone else who was watching The Colbert Report two nights ago may have also seen the commercial for the upcoming film Choke that featured a quote from yours truly. And while this isn’t the first time that FSR has been quoted in movie marketing — that Cole Abaius is the real whore — it is my first time. And it seems fitting that my first time is courtesy of a TV Spot that Fox Searchlight has titled “Cherry.” See why below.

And just as a reminder, Choke hits theaters on September 26th. Go see it, damn you. It’s another great Chuck Palahniuk adaptation. Need more of a reason, check out my Choke review from Sundance.

  • Whatever. Call me when you've been quoted three times.
  • Didn't that quote whore Neil Miller get quoted on Fox Searchlight's web page advertising for Juno last year.

    What a filthy whore.
  • Soon you'll be so famous, people will be hacking into *your* personal email account.

Once again, Maggie fails at humor.
  • Damn. I wanted to be the one to comment and call Neil a quote whore. Looks like the whole world and their brothers all beat me to my original idea. This is like the time when I was playing in a rock and roll band and Prince kept stealing all my most awesome songs.
