Must See: Inside Zack Snyder’s ‘Watchmen’ War Room
Posted by Neil Miller (neil@filmschoolrejects.com) on November 4, 2007
It seems that every time I allow the production of Watchmen to slip to the back of my mind, good ‘ole Zack Snyder comes back with a wicked update to get me all fired up once again. On Friday, Snyder left a few pictures from his Watchmen production “War Room” on the film’s official blog. Of course, there has been no concept art, production art or anything other than the cast and crew sitting around reading officially released, but these images show some serious promise. Adding to the promise are some of Snyder’s comments from the post:
“One of the things I love about the graphic novel is the incredible attention to detail. Here in the war room, we have created a place where all the departments can combine and display applicable reference, rendering a similar level of detail. From set concepts, to location photos, concepts for props, costumes, vehicles and even product logos, the surrounding walls incorporate it all.”
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see some of the work that Snyder and crew are doing on this production. In fact, I am furiously jealous of Devon over at CHUD, who had a chance to visit the production offices and see some of the art that is blurred out in the photos. But fear not, though I may be jealous I am excited, as Mr. Snyder has promised some actual concept art and maybe some other treats from the production some time in November. Until then, we have the following shots to get us through the days. (Click any of the images to see the very hi-res version)
On the Side: Did you notice the hotness that is Carla Gugino in the second picture (on the left)? Seriously, she is so hot it hurts.
