Snakes on a Plane might be Oscar worthy… Say IMDB users

Finally the wait is over, and one of the most highly anticipated summer blockbusters has finally arrived. Samuel L. Jackson, with his nonsensical speaking volume and syllable emphasis, is back in top form in Snakes on a Plane. The cult-classic buzz had already gotten out of control when the film buffs discovered that the movie’s title was real and not a working title, but movie buzz has gotten out of control (thanks in part to sites like SnakesOnaBlog.com and others…)

For those of you who aren’t familiar with IMDB, it is the ultimate movie website. They allow their users to rank the greatest 250 movies of all time. Snakes on a Plane, which had received 1,528 votes as of 1:17 AM EST, would rank as one of the top 50 movies of all time according to IMDB users. Snakes on a Plane does not have enough votes to crack the list quite yet, but if the bandwagon maintained it’s momentum, it would beat out films such as Raging Bull, 2001: A Space Odyssey, On The Waterfront, Forrest Gump, and last year’s Oscar winner Crash.

I can’t wait to see if the film can live up to some already high praises. Be sure to read Neil Miller’s review and please someone help me get Thunderpants out of the IMDB bottom 100. Seriously, check it out.
