Morning Announcements: The ‘Borat’-less Edition
Movie News By Neil Miller on November 20, 2006 | Be the First To CommentDateline: Monday November 20, 2006
So you may have a case of “the Mondays” today, especially if you are a college football fan. If you are a Michigan fan, sorry about your luck. If you are an Ohio State Buckeyes fan – then you know how great I feel this morning!
But enough about football. There is much to celebrate in the world of film today. Plenty of Tom and Katie gossip, Peter Jackson news and Box Office bliss! And come to think of it, nothing about Borat. Oh well, let’s get on with it…
‘Happy Feet’ dance past the new ‘Bond’
Two very strong releases this week were enough to knock off – well, everyone else this weekend. The dancing penguins of Happy Feet (review) charmed audiences while Daniel Craig seduced lovely ladies as James Bond in Casino Royale (review). As Cinema Blend reports, there were two big ones, and everything else just fell short.
Peter Jackson is shy about ‘The Hobbit’
Uber-director and leader of Geeks everywhere Peter Jackson was rumored to begin work on The Hobbit, his follow up to LOTR. In a letter to his minions fans on The One Ring.net, Jackson talks about a pending lawsuit and the potential death of The Hobbit. Don’t believe me, read for yourself.
Get a bit of Harry Potter
The fine folks at Film Stalker are keeping tabs on recent footage from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Check it out over on their site.
Tom and Katie get married, complete the Prophecy
President Bush, Hurricane Katrina, #1 Ohio State v. #2 Michigan. All of these things lead me to believe that they Apocalypse is coming. Need another reason? Tom Cruise marrying Katie Holmes and spawning an offspring. Cinematical has all the details.
Wilmer is pumped about 2008
And no it has nothing to do with the Presidential elections. Wilmer Valderrama is excited about replacing Erik Estrada as Ponch in an adaption of the 70′s TV show CHiPS. Is anyone else excited? Darren over at Cinema Blend, maybe…
Enough! That is your news for this Monday morning. Be sure to stop back tomorrow as we attempt to write all the wrongs of Hollywood, one shamelessly self promoting Scientologist at a time.
Also, don’t forget that we are giving away a BUNCH OF FREE STUFF over at the FSR Lost & Found.
