Dateline: Friday November 17, 2006

Hello all! Friday means that you are only a few hours away from being free for the weekend. That means plenty of time to watch movies, unless you live in Ohio or that “state up north”, then movies will have to wait until Sunday. But here is some news, just to help you get through the last day of your work week…

Dreamworks flushes Aardman (via Cinematical)
By far the most creative news title of the day - thanks to our friends at Cinematical. The short, but seemingly blooming love affair between Dreamworks and Aardman Studios is now over. Their recent flick, Flushed Away was good - but apparently not good enough. Hey, they can’t all be Spielberg.

The ‘Fred Clause’ Trailer Hits
(via ComingSoon.net)
The next comic vehicle for Vince Vaughn has a trailer - and it has hit the web this week. Clause, directed by Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin doesn’t look bad. But no matter how good it looks, it doesn’t change the fact that the film won’t be out until next Christmas. Woohoo!

Cohen speaks sans Borat (via JoBlo)
Sacha Baron Cohen finally shed the major league mustache and talked to Rolling Stone’s Neil Strauss. He talked about how it is easier to act out some of those crazy antics while in character. A very funny interview - indeed.

Eastwood is shooting from the hip - for Oscar (via Cinematical)
With the flopping underperformance of Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers, Mr. E has decided to move his next film Letters from Iwo Jima up to December 20. This puts it into the running for an Oscar… Desperation is a stinky cologne.

Ratner wants Rock and Murphy to steal things (via Cinematical)
Once again, we go to our friends over at Cinematical for more news. Brett Ratner is finishing Rush Hour 3 - which should be cool - then he is going to work on something called the Untitled Brett Ratner Project that may include Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy in a heist drama. Sounds interesting - I just hope they change the name at some point.

That is the news for your Friday. Back tomorrow - same Bat time, same Bat channel.
