Mark Millar Will Not Write The Man of Steel

Was Mark Millar knocked out by technicality? In a whirlwind of news that traveled faster than a speeding bullet, the Superman writers were out, Millar was in, and Millar went right back out.
Variety originally broke the story about Doughtery and Harris not being on board for the next adventure, a shift that left a hole in the project big enough to drive a steaming locomotive through.
Enter seasoned comic book scribe Mark Millar who, for a time, might have saved the day. Now /film has the story of why Millar, despite having dreamed up a three-flick epic for the man in the blue tights, is out of the running. Apparently the team over at DC has trouble hiring a guy affiliated with, gasp, the competition.
Does it seem fishy that a talent like Millar is shown the door because he’s batted for Marvel in the past? Why would they take his pitch in the first place? Will I be able to throw in a reference to leaping tall buildings in a single bound before the article is through? These questions and more, answered after a quick commercial break.
