“You bet your ass” was the response that Mickey Rourke gave to a photographer who rather coherently shouted “Iron Man 2” in his direction on the street over the weekend. According to a video from Geno’s World (found via Film Drunk), the exchange went something like this:

PHOTOGRAPHER: (unintelligible)
ROURKE: Iron Man 2.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Iron Man 2?
ROURKE: You bet your ass

More specifically, it went just like this:

So either negotiations for a villainous role in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man sequel are going better than they were back in early February. Either that, or as Film Drunk points out, Rourke could have been looking to say just about anything to get this amateur paparazzi guy out of his face. Just like we just ran an entire article about this non-story in order to put the phrase “ass bets” into a title. Take that, respectability.

Place your own bets: What are the odds that the non-Oscar winning Rourke jumps into the Iron Man franchise?

  • He would be a good addition for the cast.
  • Maybe Marvel got some hefty money stored somewhere and Marvel never realize how big Mickey is right now. Maybe Robert and Jon decided it will bestupid if he is not casted after all.

Could be a bad influence on the set. :)
  • I'm hoping they can play "lets make a deal" as they did with Samuel L.
  • Didn't we already hear about this? Didn't Rourke take a fairly low payday to be in Iron Man 2? Or was that still a rumor a month ago? Either way, after seeing him in Sin City, I'd believe him in any comic movie he puts his mind to.
  • i predict that Mickey Rourke will be a friggin great villain

Hes totally amazing. And it seems oddly opportune that the Cohen Brothers have suddenly come out of the blue with a previously shelved idea to do a remake of True Grit! WTF? . But are the Cohen Brothers strong enough to direct a talent like Rourke
