Michael Bay: No Transformers 2 Trailer Until February
In Production By Neil Miller on December 9, 2008 | (8) Comments
Director Michael Bay has jumped online today to give the denizens of the webosphere an update on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, including some news on a teaser trailer and a promise of some photos in the near future. The update, which was posted to the director’s official forum, is below.
Hey everyone. Back from Egypt and Jordan – we had a wonderful shoot over there. I will miss the crew they were an amazing bunch of people and a lot of fun.
I’m stuck in the edit room up to my eye balls – also finished producing Friday the 13Th and The Unborn – coming out the after the new year. Our Trailer for Transformer you have been asking about – First there will be a teaser poster soon after the new year, and the teaser trailer will be out either in the theaters early Feb. or on the Superbowl. Cannot decide yet. I’m going to release some set stills on this site in a few weeks. I’ll keep you informed. Going back to do more selects now from my portable avid that I take home from work. It’s late, see you.
- Michael
The news about the trailer might be sad for some fans, though its not as if the trailer is being “delayed” or “pushed back,” as the previous reports of a trailer by the end of the year were merely rumors. What is potentially exciting for Transformers fans is the promise of some official photos in the coming weeks. Now, don’t get too excited there kids, as Bay did say “set stills.” That leads me to believe that the pics will include little to no robot action. I know what all of you are thinking and to some extent, I agree. Not awesome, indeed.
