Michael Bay Doesn’t Do Three Film Story Arcs, Prefers to Take it One at a Time

Despite the rampant and highly controversial rumors that Michael Bay will leave Transformers 2 hanging on an unfinished plot in order to keep the drool flowing between parts 2 and 3, the big time director of Awesome told MTV this weekend that he plans to take his films one at a time.
Alright, so the rumors were all just fabricated in the minds of MTV’s backstage reporters at this past weekend’s MTV Movie Awards, where Bay took home the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie, but the answer still stands:
“You know how those sequels they do the second one so you go see the third one? ["Transformers 2”] is it,” he said, indicating that “2” would be its own story free from the duel shackles of set-up or resolution. “First one was just introducing, setting up stuff, so we can go a lot farther. Let’s just say [this] is not a lame sequel.”
No Mr. Bay, we expect that this sequel will be by no means “lame” — we demand it to be awesome. And by awesome, we mean that we want to see a 20 robot battle royale that culminates with Megan Fox in her skivies being tossed around like that blonde chick in King Kong. Only this time, instead of a giant CGI monkey, we get giant CGI robots.
Bay promised that while the number of robots is cool, it will be all about their moves. “The robots are going to surprise a lot of people because we go with a lot of different levels,” he teased. It reminds me of the “We want to make the dinosaurs dance” line from Steven Spielberg in the early 90s when he was working on a series of films, two of which were awesome, one of which was not directed by him.
As for Megan Fox, she was on hand at the MTV Awards to promote abstinence and thigh-high boots. As well, she also spoke about her own Transformers 2 transformation: “In this one I transform from a girl into a woman,” she said. Hmm… If that is true, it is going to be difficult to attain that PG-13 rating for Bay and crew.
Sound Off: Are you excited for Transformers 2? Or should we just forget about it and go back to our regularly scheduled programming of making wise-cracks in the director of that shitty GI Joe movie?
