Megatron Gets Tanked, Hops in Bed with Transformers Sequel

Megatron as a Tank

Will Michael Bay transform Megatron into the world’s coolest beer keg? Probably not, but he is bringing him back in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as a tank, proving alcohol even makes Decepticons look better.

The sequel to the blockbuster original focuses on a new villain, the Fallen, who the Autobots have to face off against. But if you thought that Megatron wasn’t going to get his time on-screen then I would suggest you lay off the Pineapple Express. This time Megatron will be ditching his alien jet threads (which pissed me off due to the similarity to Starscream’s look) for the ability to transform into a tank.

Could we see an alliance between Optimus and Megatron to take down the Fallen? Word from CHUD is that a previous draft of the script had the Autobots bringing Megatron back to life, so it looks like that’s how things will go down.

I still miss seeing Megatron as a gun, but he could never fire a shot off by himself, always needing another robot’s assistance. And there is your setup for a Transformers sex joke. Have at it.

Do you like the idea of Megatron as a tank instead of a jet, or would you rather have the old-school Megatron from the cartoons and comics?

If you're getting this info based on that piece of production art, I should point out that that's an old unused piece from the early stages of designing the first movie.

No, the info is based on the CHUD article linked within the post. The art was just used because we like to provide visual stimuli to our readers. We are very aware of the fact that it is old and otherwise irrelevant.

give me the rivalry between starscream and megatron!!
  • It doesn't matter. Bay is just going to blow it up anyway, along with any semblance of plot or character arc that sneaked its way onto the screen.

To me the title says that Megatron is the one who comes back for revenge - Deceptocons find and fix him.

A team up? That sounds stupid to me - but then again Michael Bay mmade Pearl Harbor so anything is possible :)

Megatron as a tank sounds good to me, it would be cool, but again this could be just bs to keep us fans offbase as to what the story will really be about. I hope the Revenge of the Fallen title is talking about the character known as the The Fallen, not just the return of Megatron. If Megatron is a tank what kind of tank will he look like, M1-Abram prototype, a Russian tank, well we will just have to wait and see.
I hope that if the Fallen character is in this movie, there is some kind of reference to Unicron. Unicron should be in the third film, as should the Dinobots, and various other Transformers. Anway it looks as if Transformers 2 is going to have a whole lot of KA-BOOM!!! in it. I hope that neither Optimus Prime nor Starscream are killed off in this one. I think it's better to keep these two around till the final Transformer movie. whenever that is. Prime and Starscream are icons in the world of the Transformers. If they die let them die in the final fight of the final battle, of the final war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Autobots winning the war. Here's to the Revenge of the Fallen. May it kick all the ass that we Transformer fans could ever want.
  • Cameron has a better opinion o
First off dorko is should not be aloud to comment second bill knows whats up with the megatron and scream rival and third megatron should have stuck to his roots and been a gun! But wait there is more dinobots should not be included in any of these movies !

My hope is that we find out that Megatron copied himself into a gun worn by a naval officer on the aircraft carrier just before they dropped his body into the ocean at the end of the first movie. We saw one of the Decepticons turn itself into a cell phone this way. It woudl be a nice way to at least pay homage to the original comic/toy before turning him into a tank.
