Just got a little ditty from our friends over at Lionsgate regarding the soon to be in production fifth installment of the Saw series. Actress Meagan Good, who has recently been seen in One Missed Call, Stomp the Yard and Waist Deep, will join the supporting cast. In Saw V, Good will play a character named Luba, a city planner who comes from a very wealthy family.
I must say that while I am not one of those dudes who is really into horror, I can appreciate the longevity achieved by the Saw series. Even though the series has changed directors from James Wan (Saw) to Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III and IV) to David Hackl (Saw V), the films seem to be keeping up pace, at least at the box office. And as far as Lionsgate is concerned, if you keep going to see them, they will keep making them. And I don’t see anything wrong with that.
Saw V will also star Julie Benz, Scott Patterson and the incomparable Tobin Bell. It is slated for release on October 24, 2008 and begins production sometime next month. We will keep you posted as more details become available
