McLovin’ Rocks Some Spandex, Is Ready to Kick-Ass

The winsome gentlemen over at Ain’t It Cool News have published a brand new report from the set of Matthew Vaughn’s comic book adaptation Kick-Ass this morning, which includes a first look image of Christopher Mintz-Plasse in costume. Mintz-Plasse plays Red Mist, the sidekick to Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a young man who becomes the makeshift hero known as Kick-Ass.
The adaptation of the popular comic from Wanted writer Mark Millar is currently filming at the legendary Elstree Studios in London, when AICN went to visit. If you have a few moments, I would highly recommend checking out Moriarty’s report from the set, as it’s full of all kinds of geeky goodness. Kick-Ass is a wicked cool book and with Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, Layer Cake) at the helm, I’m very excited to see what comes of it. Just click the image above to head over there to the full set report and a much larger version of the photo.
Kick-Ass will hit theaters sometime in 2009.
