Runaways

The word around the interwebs is that Marvel Studios is set to adapt yet another one of their properties. With films adaptations such as Captain America, The Avengers, Thor and Iron Man 2 already having dates, Marvel plans for one more.

Marvel Comics Runaways will be one of Marvel Studios’ next films. Never heard of Runaways you say? It’s ok, most people haven’t. I have only heard of it by passing it on the shelves. The story is about a bunch of teens who find out that their parents are actually villains, and they decide to run away and form a team of heros. Sounds cool, until you find out that one of them commands a dinosaur, and most of them only have the power to steal. Meaning, they stole their parents’ evil tools or source of their power and now plan to use it for good.

I have to say, I’m not too optimistic about this one. They will probably end up choosing Mark Steven Johnson as a director to top it all off. You know, its the classic thought process in Hollywood where one executive says”well he has directed two other Marvel films”, and another comes back with “but Daredevil and Ghost Rider sucked”…only to hear the first executive say “well maybe the third time is a charm.”

It just all seems kind of…well, unnecessary.
