When it was announced back in May 2007 that Lost would have a finite number of seasons, with 16 episodes in each one, fans were unsure of their feelings. However, the consensus reached was that a finite arc with a well planned story could work hugely in the show’s favor, especially a show such as Lost. Recently though, speculation has arisen as to whether the end to the endless drama would end up being done on the big screen.

Today, the good people over on Collider were part of an online roundtable with the show’s creators, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (a.k.a. “Darlton”). This round table laid to rest some rumors, dealt with some annoying little issues which have been niggling at viewers for years, but most importantly asked that all important question, will they be moving the action to the local cineplex?

Q: With the end of the series looming in 2010, is a feature film being considered at all?

Damon Lindelof: The answer, Brian, is no. At least not by us. We’ve always felt that the show should definitively end the same place it started… on television. To bring our characters to some sort of cliffhanger where the audience gets none of the answers that they really care about and then say, “Now give us ten bucks. buy some popcorn and we’ll give you the rest!” would pretty much be the worst thing ever.

So, there you have it, Lost fans. Your hard earned dollars will not demanded to see how the final act plays out, at least not with these guys in charge.

Would you like to see a Lost movie?
