Ali Lohan to star in Troll remake

If John Carl Buechler gets his way, Lindsay “The Mess” Lohan’s little sister Ali will step up to the plate to battle an evil troll in the upcoming remake. Buechler was impressed with the young Lohan, who as far as we know as not become addicted to cocaine yet, and said that “The camera loves her. She’s a really good actress…I am personally going to fight for her.”

Good news for little Lo, as for the rest of us, not sure. I’ve never seen her act, but I have seen the original Troll. The creepy little story follows a family who must deal with Torok, an evil troll who lives in their basement. Regardless of how well it holds up now, as a kid it scared the shit out of me because I had the same laundry room, the same bouncing ball, and the same snarling troll trying to take over my dimension. Shit was weird growing up.

The movie is budgeted at a startling $25 million, which seems high for a movie of this, ahem, uh, nature? Projected quality? Whatever. I can’t say I’m looking forward to it, but I will keep this in the back of my mind. Who knows, maybe something awesome will come of it. Fun side note – the original 1986 film featured Julia Louis-Dreyfuss in her first film roll. Oh, and Buechler directed the first one too. Go figure.
