Lexi Alexander Wants You to Know that Punisher: War Zone Contains Violence, No Dialogue
In Production By Neil Miller on October 13, 2008 | (34) Comments
After the first trailer contained Ray Stevenson delivering the horrendous line, “Sometimes I’d like to get my hands on God,” it is clear that Lionsgate would like us to forget that Punisher: War Zone contains any dialogue at all, and remember only that it is going to be ultra-violent. Since said trailer astounded us with its B-movie one-liners, we have seen nothing but unbridled action — a hardcore, bullet-filled music video from Comic-Con and now the video seen below, a short clip from the film complete with an introduction from the film’s reclusive director Lexi Alexander. Once believed to be in a custody battle of sorts over the final cut of the film, Alexander appears to be in the edit bay, working diligently to get the film’s final cut finished for its December 5th release.

Now, I am not going to speculate as to why Lexi Alexander needed to introduce this clip, but if you have been following along with all of the rumors and hearsay going on around the web, you are aware that some damage control was probably in order. As of now, everyone involved in the project is standing together as if to imply that nothing was ever really wrong in the first place. In fact, when our own Cole Abaius caught up with producer Gale Ann Hurd last week, she was very tight-lipped about Punisher, showing little interest in commenting on the rumors. None of this, however, says anything about the quality of the film — in fact, not even the clip gives us any idea what to expect. Except for bullets, there will be plenty of bullets.
