Lexi Alexander Talks Punisher War Zone

Lexi Alexander on the set of Punisher: War Zone

If I were a sexist, I would say that hottie chick director Lexi Alexander recently updated her blog about the status of Punisher: War Zone.  But I’ve been told presenting ones self as sexist is immoral and wrong, and also Alexander is a former kick boxing champion, so….

Hooligans director Lexi Alexander recently updated her blog about the status of Punisher: War Zone.

Safe.  I’m having a little fun here, as the blog update really didn’t provide much.  Basically Alexander recently showed her Director’s Cut to all the studio heads and producers involved.  For those not sure of what goes on in this meetings, basically they watch and then whine.  Kidding (sort of).  The Producers and Studios each get a say in the final product and will provide a bevy of notes on what works (often few notes) and what doesn’t (sometimes pages).  Alexander will then have to make changes.

But fear not!  She tells us she may only have to make a few minor compromises, but overall she’s happy with how the meetings are progressing.  The release date has also been moved to December 5th, 2008. She also indicated that we’re in for a bloody, violent time.

I must say what I’ve seen so far has my hopes dwindling, but who knows.  Hopefully we’ll be surprised.

Oh no! Dwindled hopes? What has caused this state of affairs, this sad, sad dwindling? This is a blog, neh? Blog it! What don’t you like so far? And why?

The production stills that have come out have all looked …. Not… Good. They gave Castle some sort of strange looking armor and he just looked awkward. I want to like it, as I’m a huge, huge Punisher fan.
