Leonardo DiCaprio To Be a Viking for Mel Gibson
Movie News By Neil Miller on December 14, 2009 | (2) Comments
Last week, the blogosphere erupted with reports that Mel Gibson was in the process of shooting a movie at a prison in Veracruz, Mexico. The details were sketchy and beyond the location, nothing was known. Thankfully, patience has once again paid off for movie fans and we now know a little bit more — and it involves Leonardo DiCaprio.
On top of that, it doesn’t look like he’s shooting anything yet.
DiCaprio has signed on to star in the untitled film, a period drama about Viking culture, says Variety. William Monahan, who worked with DiCaprio and producer Graham King on The Departed, has written a script that King (who is producing the film independently with Gibson) has described as “an awe-inspiring story.”
Shooting is expected to begin in fall 2010, which is a far cry from already shooting, which is what previous reports have told us. The rest of the details (plot, additional cast, locations) are still currently under wraps. We’ll keep you updated as the story develops.
