Ive been a huge fan of simon pegg ever since his show "spaced" first aired. he is fantastic, but sadly i dont think he really gets to shine unless he is involved in the writing, like in shaun of the dead, hot fuzz, and the spaced series, his most loved work.

come on spaced series 3, where are you!?!?!

This has potential to be sure, but I don't see a reason to get excited yet. As you said, Landis' last 'horror' film was Innocent Blood which aside from a frequently nude Anne Parillaud was a piece of shit. And I like Pegg, even brushed legs with him a few times two Comic-Con's ago, but he alone can't save a bad movie (see How To Win Friends and Alienate People). I also won't hold my breath for a "dark, sinister true crime script"... not with Landis at the helm anyway.
