Earlier this evening our good friend and faithful reader Christopher M. sent over a handful of new images from the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy Land of the Lost, but before we could post them we were hit with the brand new trailer, from which the photos were taken. So along with the collage of screencaps above, we would also like to share said trailer with you. For those of you with amnesia, Land of the Lost stars Will Ferrell as Rick Marshall, a park ranger/researcher who stumbles into a mysterious parallel world populated by dinosaurs and other odd creatures, including a dangerous race of Sleestak. Directed by 10 Items or Less’ Brad Silberling, the film also stars Pushing Daisies’ Anna Friel, Tropic Thunder’s Danny McBride and SNL’s Jorma Taccone. Personally I’m on the excited bus for this one — sure it looks campy and it will probably feature a paint-by-numbers performance from Will Ferrell. But its going to be fun and its going to bring me back to a show that I loved so much as a kid, so screw it.

Land of the Lost hits theaters on June 5, 2009. Check out the trailer below, courtesy of SubwayFreshBuzz.com.

Probably the only way they could even make this movie work was to make it a comedy. I think it has some laugh potential.
