We know that Tom Cruise is already in Germany playing a Nazi in the film, Valkyrie.

What we just found out from the Hollywood Reporter is that Cruise’s former wife, Nicole Kidman, will depart next month for Germany as well, to star in the Weinstein Company’s The Reader, co-starring Ralph Fiennes. Screenplay will be written by David Hare, who also wrote The Hours, which netted Kidman an Oscar.

The Reader is based on Bernhard Schlink’s best seller about a 15-year-old boy with a realized obsession over Hanna, an older woman who one day just up and leaves, reappearing later, to his shock and amazement, as a defendant in a Nazi war crimes trial.

We don’t know yet if Kidman’s character committed war crimes against Cruise’s character, but we’ll be listening for any rumors saying they’re together again.
