Lionsgate has somewhat inadvertently released the teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s latest flick, the comic book adaptation Kick-Ass. Based on the ultraviolent comic book series from Wanted scribe Mark Millar, Kick-Ass tells the story of Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a hapless loser who asks the great question, “why hasn’t anyone ever tried to be a real superhero?” And despite his lack of superpowers, he becomes the crimefighter Kick-Ass and takes on bad guys. But as he soon finds out, these bad guys use real weapons and really do want to kill him.

You can see the first trailer below, which I’m told by our email scoop-hound Joe was taken from the film’s official site (though I don’t see it there anymore — we’ve got an embed from Trailer Addict). The undoubtedly hilarious and heavily violent Kick-Ass hits theaters April 16, 2010.
